Each day 112,000 people come to the Longwood Medical and Academic Area (LMA), making this one of the most densely populated areas in the city during peak times. The challenge of moving people efficiently into and around the LMA is enormous.

MASCO supports and encourages many ways to get into and around the LMA, including public transportation, carpool programs, cycling and shuttle services.

These efforts are taking hold – 48 percent of the people who come to the LMA do so via public transportation, while 10 percent walk, 4 percent ride a bike and 4 percent carpool.

We thank all participants for doing their part to help reduce congestion in the LMA.
